What: McSmiles Preschool is a free service to all McDowell County children who will be 3 or 4 by August 31, 2013. No financial requirements for eligibility! Classes are filled on a first-come basis.
When: Classes meet 2 times a week for 1 hour and 40 minutes, during the regular school year.
Where: The McSmiles buses go to area churches and elementary schools in the county. You must provide transportation to and from class.
How: Register your child now for the 2013-2014 school year by calling McSmiles at 442-4534 or 925-0272 to have a form mailed to you. Mail the completed form back to McSmiles. You will receive a postcard in August informing you of the site and time of your child's class.
Why: McSmiles provides a valuable service to the children. a teacher and assistant work with up to 12 children at a time. Our goal is to provide fun activities to help them master the social and academic skills that will lead to future school success.

Department Announcements Picture Day is Tues. April 30, 2013Spring pictures for all boys and girls and Graduation Cap and Gown pictures for those going to kindergarten next year will be taken on Tues. April 30, 2013. Lifetouch photographers will be set up in the Old Rock Gym at Pleasant Gardens Elementary. These picture packages are prepaid.
